Anyone who says armor repairers are useless hasn't tried a Gallente scout with three complex armor repairers. That thing reps at 21.75 hp/s, it's insane.

All kinds of battles have tank spam, depending what players are playing. But usually ambush gamemodes have tanks pretty much every single match, so play something else other than ambush.

Good tips, +1 from me. And as a small addition to #8, luring works especially well with remote explosives. If you can make sure the enemy doesn't notice them, you can catch multiple enemies at once, and make sure they can't be revived.
